Scott has been playing various competitive sports since childhood. In 1995 he began playing rugby and fell in love with the physical competition, and demand of the sport. Though spending countless hours of traditional weight training and isolation exercises to stay in shape, the years of wear and tear were starting to show on the rugby field and it was time for a change. Scott was introduced to CrossFit workouts in the summer of 2010, by a friend returning from service in the Middle East, and was immediately hooked. He started training with the CVCF crew soon after, and has fully embraced the CrossFit lifestyle. Scott continues to play rugby at a competitive level for the Burlington rugby club where is is also the fitness coordinator. He is the assistant coach for Champlain College rugby, and is a nationally certified rugby referee.
